After being closed for 13 months, our phased reopening has started!
From 12th April 2021, weekend sessions that are permitted in step 2 of the Government roadmap have returned to SARA Hall. The hall will also be used as a polling station on 6th May 2021.
From 17th May 2021, weekday and weekend sessions that are permitted in step 3 of the Government roadmap are due to return.
Sudley Area Residents' Association was established in 1977 and registered as a charity in 1979. The Association is a focus group for a large area of Aigburth in South Liverpool and operates from SARA Hall. The Association changed its legal status to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in July 2020.
SARA Hall is an established community hub offering a variety of weekly sessions, it is also a centre for adult education classes offered by The Workers' Educational Association and independent tutors.
The Heritage Lottery
In October 2015, SARA received a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) 'Sharing Heritage' grant to fund a project called: “Children of War - Childhood memories of growing up in South Liverpool during World War II”.
SARA Charity of the Year
Since 2004-05, SARA has supported a variety of charities (both local and national) as well as providing grants for youth projects in the Sudley Area. For 2018-19, SARA's charity of the year is Sunflowers, a Liverpool charity that supports people living with cancer.
